This mushroom compost is an ideal soil conditioner and mulch.

Mushroom compost is a by-product of the mushroom growing industry and is produced under carefully controlled conditions. Made from a blend of well-rotted horse manure, poultry manure and wheat straw. The compost is steam sterilised to remove any pests, diseases or weed seed. High in organic matter, soil structure is improved by providing nutrients for healthy plants, wheat straw adds body and gypsum for texture improvement.

Slightly alkaline, should not be used with ericaceous plants. Recommended rate of use for general soil improvement a 5cm layer should be spread over the area to be treated, then forked or rotavated in. A 7.5cm layer could be considered with very poor soils.

A first class soil conditioner for all types of soil. Suitable for a wide range of ornamental plants and vegetables.
