Charlotte seed potatoes are the most popular salad potato variety in the UK. Charlotte is best known for its culinary excellence, of course it is French. Best eaten fresh as a salad it can be stored up till Christmas. It is noted for good resistance against slugs and common scab leading to good appearance.
Charlotte potatoes have a fresh flavour which tastes great either hot or cold. They are ideal boiled as part of a salad as they hold their shape well and can even be roasted whole.

Charlotte seed potatoes are the most popular salad potato variety in the UK. Charlotte tubers are long with yellow skins and firm, yellow waxy flesh - making them superb for salads and boiling. These seed potatoes have excellent cooking qualities and are always full of flavour. Very good levels of foliage and tuber blight resistance. Charlotte is a popular second early variety for planting in August and harvesting before Christmas.

SOIL PREPARATION:
Choose a place in the garden which has not been used to grow garlic, onions, shallots or leeks for at least two years. The soil should be open, well drained and not have been manured for at least one year.
PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS:
Each potato should be 25cm from the next, with rows spaced 60cm apart. Always make sure the eyes are facing upwards. Drills should be 15cm deep.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Water well in dry spells.
HARVESTING INSTRUCTIONS:
Harvest June-July. Dig up mature potatoes and store them in a cool, dry and dark location. Potatoes can be stored for several months. Tip: when harvesting, remove all foliage and small potatoes from the soil and discard, to avoid diseases on next year’s crop.
Plant as soon as possible after purchase. Keep in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place until planting. Keep free from frost.
