A tall plant with mauve or purple dark spotted flowers at the paler throat, it is excellent for the back of the border. the plant has a stimulating effect when planted near other plants, encouraging their growth and protecting them from fungus. CAUTION: TOXIC IF EATEN WHEN TO SOW March to May WHERE TO SOW Sow outside in April or May where it will flower the following year. Prefers light well drained soil in partial shade or sun. Flowers From July to August. MEDICINAL It was used in heart conditions but always under medical supervision. The dried leaves may be used externally as a poultice to help healing of wounds. The Foxglove plant has a stimulating effect when planted near other plants, encouraging their growth and protecting them from fungus. HELPFUL HINTS To help cut flowers keep fresh longer in a vase try adding a tea made from foxglove leaves.
